Bozeman’s Jeremy Morton defeated eight time champion Justin Balkenbush of Billings to win the Montana State Singles Open Division Sunday at the YMCA in Billings. It is Morton’s second title. He also won in 2004.
Butte’s Brett Badovinac captured the Masters (40+) division by defeating defending champion Moe Johnson of Missoula in a rematch of last year’s final.
Dan Scilley of Luther won the Golden Master (50+) by injury default over Butte’s Dan Bersanti. It was Scilley’s 10th state age group title and 26th state title overall including doubles. Only Paul Wachholz has more with 35.
Billing’s Mike Meyer defeated Garth Kallevig of Sidney to capture his second title in the Super Golden Masters (60+) division.
Tom Morris of Billings defeated Missoula’s Wally Page in the Diamond Masters (70+) to win his eighth age group singles title.
Missoula’s Brad Chumrau captured the B division in a round robin format and EJ Panetta of Sheridan Wyoming captured the A division, which is the consolation of the Open division. Complete Results:
