Brett Badovinac found himself in familiar territory Sunday.

The Butte handball player won the 33rd Annual Bill Ryan/Al Bersanti Memorial Tournament at the Elks. Badovinac beat Don Foley 20-21, 21-17, 11-2 in the championship match to win the tournament for the fourth straight year.

The title was the sixth overall for Badovinac, the reigning state champion. He beat Foley in the Open Division championship match the last three years.

Cole Salo of Butte used a tiebreaker to beat Les Seago of Emigrant for third place.

Butte’s Mike Hitchcock won the 60-plus Super Gold Masters Division title. After going 3-0 in round robin to win his pool, Hitchcock beat John Larson of East Helena 21-15, 21-16 in Sunday’s championship match.

Scott Salo of Butte claimed third place after his Sunday competitor, Butte native Rick Harrington of Missoula, forfeited because of injury.
